have failed to do anything productive with day off, didn't even make it out to eat ice-cream with [livejournal.com profile] cryx for her birthday :-(
grrr: I remember when I first came to London being so proactive about seeking out new things that were going on & going out to explore new places, but now I seem to have become so mired in being purely reactive to other people's energy & the ritual of regular events: have barely even cooked in the last month or so which is something I used to do the whole time.
bah. i need an injection of ambition and energy from somewhere.

I know how you feel on the lethargy and not arsed to cook front, I too used to love cooking now its pizza or ready meal in the oven bing food. Also whilst I have a vague wanting to do other stuff the routine of things seems to catch me doing them because thats what I do rather than perhaps I want to be doing them. Whilst I like routines, they keep one stable and realitively happy in a bubble of self/reality they can get stale.
I think perhaps that humans short term like sameiness (oo new word) and routine but mid to long term like changes and feeling that they are learning and experiencing new things. Being a biologist I suppose one could put that down the animal instinct/reproductive tactics or something (stay put short while to invest in offspring or at least try for them, if no success or finished move on and try again elsewhere )
Hmm bears thought maybe pah I'm blither blathering (one of my things that but then playing a brujah I guess you'd know :-) )
Thats the long winded way of my saying "me too"

Oh and glad Mr Sowden ended up with someone nice :-)

i think you're definitely right: what first gets sought out as safe & comfortable, ends up getting perceived as dull & stagnant: hurrah for never being satisfied!
