the cars in the churchyard
Dec. 21st, 2002 12:14 amam ensconced once more in the family home, enjoying the age-old pleasures of getting frustrated with my parents' decrepit PC (the mouse works on every other site except hotmail just when i thought i'd have the rare opportunity to e-mail at leisure . . . damn i wish i understood these things sometimes)
still, had a cool time wandering up and down tottenham court road with L., bazzing and catching up and accidentally xmas shopping on the way, altohugh it's a shame i didn't make it up to see the rest of the cranham street crowd: but I did get home justr in time to save loads of books my parents were in the process of getting rid of as part of their ruthless attempt to change every aspect of this house from the way it was when i grew up here; they were shipping out a pocket-sized, hard-covered, parchment-leaved, 1904 dusty little tome of Dante's Purgatory with the Italian on one page and the English opposite . . . do these people have no soul??
seeing all the Loebs in the classics section of waterstones with L. made me realise I haven't read any classicsy stuff since I finished my degree and i started really missing it.
