went to see Monster last night with MR which was really good: I very much liked the greying of the lines in the characters between the fairly sympathetic and the utterly sociopathic & raised a lot of interesting thoughts about the western world's underclass and the interaction between circumstance and personal responsibility; Charlize Theron's performance was certainly excellent and Christina Ricci was good as well- bug-eyed, freaky little thing that she is.

Just found out Rufus Wainwright is playing in Camden tonight: only just heard about it so it might not have been booked out in advance but I'm already seeing him in a fortnight so I guess I'll head to the pub rather than take the chance . . .

yeah: the forehead was paricularly to the fore in Monster, quite distractingly so . . .
