urgh, so much for my relaxing Xmas, am permanently tired again already: all my own fault of course . . . Went up to Sheffield for NYE to Tom's house which was a lot of fun, I thought my school friends may have finally scattered ourselves our separate ways this year but there were still about a dozen of us there; it started off nicely chilled and then the partying kicked off properly when Sheffield people started arriving from about eleven- there was a fire in the backgarden and dancing to the Sisters of Mercy and kissing of boyfriends at midnight (which was an exciting novelty) and a DIY front-room performance segment of the evening with people reciting poems, singing songs and displaying various talents; I even sang a couple of songs (one by Tom Lehrer, one by Suede) which involved a lot less trauma (for both me and the audience) than it might have done . . .
otherwise am still having fun but with underlying frustration at not being able to do everything I want to, I suspect I'll never be satisfied and the answer is to revise my expectations; a lot of stuff is clashing with each other too, damn all these 30th birthdays, so unlikely to make it to many games for the next couple of months, hopefully see people socially instead :-)
