The Sunday before my week off started with an International Zoom call with various folks in the UK and Oz, which largely featured everyone's cats, but it was lovely to see them all and chat; there was also the usual family zoom, this time with a special Mother's Day focus in the afternoon.

My week off work went pretty much as planned, bimbling along doing life admin and domestic jobs which gently eased the overwhelming sense of Things Undone, in which spirit I did also do a few hours of work each afternoon Monday-Thursday, just writing casenotes so low stress; I did get a call from work at 10am on the Monday, but that was just a simple query about where something was and I didn't hear anything else for the rest of the week. I did a little local walk each day too, except Thursday when I had my second Covid vaccine jab in the morning down at the Gordon Hospital; it was the first time I'd got public transport for a week [which I know is nothing compared to most people over the last year but unusual for me] and since I was down there I had a longer wander around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens before heading home from there.

My evenings were busier, with D&D Monday, a Discord chat with R&L on Tuesday, a double-header livestream from The Velvet Hands and Calva Louise on Scruff of the Neck Wednesday, then N & my 9th anniversary on Thursday; last year we'd had to cancel our plans to go out for a fondue as Covid restrictions kicked in to have one at home, so we did the same again and the housemates (L & R) joined us. I had a more deliberate day of relaxing on the Friday and watched the Frank T livestream I'd missed the night before.

We had a pretty busy weekend, heading out to Uxbridge (where we waved from a distance at PFW) to walk up the canal to Rickmansworth, which felt properly like getting out of London, even if it all started getting pretty bonkers towards the Ricky houseboat community. I caught up with livestreams from False Heads and Gaz B from the night before in the afternoon, then we had a Zoom Quiz N's friend B had concocted for his birthday but we'd never got round to in the evening, which was fun. On Sunday we had another international zoom, this time with N's cousin and another relative out in Singapore, then I met up with E (restrictions having relaxed to allow us to meet one other person outside) and we did the Parkland walk from Finsbury Park to Highgate, then round the woods there. There was the family catch-up and filling in the census with the housemates in the evening.

This week was quieter, things seemed to have survived at work while I was away, although I had some exhausting days trying to fit in catching up with all my guests, but we just had D&D on Monday in the evenings and Baby Strange livestreaming on Scruff of the Neck on Wednesday, just crosswording with N or watching stuff the other evenings; it's been BFI Flare (the Film Festival Formerly Known as Gay & Lesbian) over the last couple of weeks, which has been happening online of course, so I've been trying to watch a lot of the shorts, which are free and are harder to track down after the festival finishes.

This weekend has been quieter too: N's started on shows (which the students are putting on but without an audience), so will be working late everyday except Sundays; yesterday I had the Iris Trustee meeting, which melded into an online catch up with L&D, and caught up with this week's Gaz B livestream; I'm just chilling at home today too, although hopefully we'll have some kind of walk this afternoon, before family-zoomtime and dinner with the housemates.
