I ache in the places where I used to play
Aug. 30th, 2005 11:06 pmfeeling just about human for the first time all day after Reading and Red Eye left me pretty battered and exhausted, mostly in a good way though: not that hungry as well, but I think that's just the heat. Did manage to make it to a job interview earlier which actually seemed to go quite well (perhaps I should cultivate the semi-conscious approach in future) although given that I got offered a job from the interview that seemed to go really badly, perhaps that's not such a good sign.
stayed down with my parents most of last week after the wedding (which was fun: the most all-the-trimmings affair I've been to and a dozen or so of my school friends all together fleetingly) and saw all the Southampton people: I went to The Hobbit a couple of times and had nostalgic alternate timeline fantasies about what life could've been like if I'd stayed/moved back down there. Have been rather less succesful about arranging to see the people I'd hoped to hook up with in the rest of my time off up here, however, or even motivating myself to reply to e-mails, for that matter. Although I have been working my way through the Carnivale DVDs that, conveniently, are currently residing in our flat and the pile of films I purloined off
reindeerflotila so it's not been all bad. Think I might stop smoking, which is not something I've ever really considered before, although it's just a couple of weeks until K. moves back to Scotland now and she's (ironically) the only person I never smoke around.

Date: 2005-08-31 11:08 am (UTC)Reading's good for the bands but very commercialised and much younger than other festivals I know of: big with the just-got-their-A-levels/GCSE-results crowd . . .
